MY 3 MATERIALS:

1. Album Cover
2. Merchandise
3. Tour Poster

Colour Schemes:

I have found these three colour schemes that I think would suit my product. I wanted to go for a simple colour scheme with not too many diverse colours and a fairly even mix of light and dark colours. I think these colour schemes would suit the genre of my band as these colour schemes are simple and have a range of light and dark colours.

Fonts:

For the band's name, I wanted the font to be a bit cartoon-like but not too strong. But then I looked at eroded sans serif types of fonts and I found some that I think would suit the band's name and their genre.

I have found these fonts I think would be good for the album title. I personally like the first one the most out of the three because I just think it is the most fitting for the band and the album title as well as the genre of the band.

Graphic Elements:

I think that the graphic elements should show or reflect the style of the band's album and songs. I want to have some use of collage for the imagery for my product with a mixture of different and unique objects and imagery. I want the background to be plain and simple and not a lot going on because the imagery is the main thing for this product and I want the background to make the imagery stand out so I would have my background the opposite brightness to the imagery and a different shade of colour also with a slight pattern or texture to make things more interesting. I want my text to be a fairly normal size so it isn't too hard to read but doesn't take up too much space.

Shapes/Symbols/Background ideas:

Layout (Hierarchy):

I have created four layout ideas for my band's album cover. I personally like the first and third layout the most because I feel that it is the most fitting with the band's name and album title with the genre of the band as well. I also think it is the most fitting hierarchy layout for an album cover of the genre of my band because similar album covers to my one are mostly visual based.

Here I have experimented with three different layout ideas for the tour posters. I have changed the positioning and experimented with hierarchy in these three ideas for my tour poster design.

Images and/or Illustrations:

I want the images for my product to link to and reflect the band's album and songs in some ways and to also have some strange and unique imagery. The album title is 'Eyesore' and the word eyesore means something ugly or something unpleasant to look at so I would want some imagery that relate to that word in some way. I have found some images that I think would suit the genre of my band and their album.

Here are some drawings of imagery ideas:
